For those ex-newsies among us, the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced today.

Be aware that the big award (public service) winner is the Washington Post for it’s work on a series of stories exposing the poor treatment of veterans at Walter Reed Hospital.

So, it’s not just disasters and politics. Reporters can make their bones on our collective carcasses.

No locals among all the winners or finalists.
